Automotive Mechatronics Engineering Program
Program Definition :
The Automotive Mechatronics Engineering Program is one of the new programs within the new programs at the Faculty of Engineering in Al-Matariya by Ministerial Decision No. 4510 dated 10/15/2020. The program and courses are designed according to local and international academic standards in the field of education to keep pace with the rapid development in the field of automobiles, especially electric and hybrid cars. The program is the first of its kind in Egypt and the Middle East in the field of automotive mechatronics. The design of the program took into account the courses of the main program of the department, which is the automotive and tractor engineering program (the automotive part), as well as the common courses with mechanical or electrical programs, whether they are college programs such as the mechanical power engineering program and mechanical design program or Helwan Engineering programs such as the electrical power engineering program or electronics and communications. The following table shows the reference of this specialization in some international universities.

Program Mission:
Providing an interdisciplinary education for automotive engineering graduates to be qualified to design electric and hybrid vehicles and automotive mechatronics systems. In addition to diagnosing mechanical, electrical and electronic failures as well as performing maintenance and repair of automobiles. The main objective is to provide students with education and practical experience at an advanced level in mechanical, electrical, electronic and control systems related to automobiles.
Program Vision:
To become an internationally recognized engineering education program whose graduates gain advanced skills in automotive mechanics, electronics, computer programming, and advanced control system modeling and design.
Graduate's Specifications:
The program aims to provide graduates with the following traits and abilities in addition to the general traits of college graduates:
1. Designing control systems and units of normal, electric and hybrid cars.
2. Increase the graduate's skills in dealing with electrical power systems in electric and hybrid vehicles.
3. Developing safety systems for cars and passengers of all types and keeping pace with the rapid development in the field of automobiles.
4. Using computer-aided design (CAD) tools to design automotive units, systems, and structures.
5. Using electrical and electronic diagnostic equipment and tools.
6. Maintenance and repair of internal combustion engine, electric and hybrid vehicles.
7. Design preventive maintenance plans and conduct computerized operations research.
8. Maintenance and repair of automotive electronic systems.
9. Increase the graduate's creative skills in both programming and personality (ability to communicate and work in a team).
10. Increase the graduate's skills in analyzing car accidents.
