Project and Construction Management Program

Program definition :

The Project Management and Sustainable Construction program is an advanced specialization in the field of civil engineering and is the first program in public universities in project management and sustainable construction. Project management has become a vital necessity in light of the urgent need for effective management that includes the organization of all project phases and tasks, from inception to completion. This program aims to train students to use modern methods and techniques to manage construction projects.

Program Mission:

  • Achieving an advanced educational system that keeps pace with the requirements of the labor market and developing scientific research mechanisms to be linked to the current and future needs of the local and regional community.

Program Objectives

  • Establishing a new system of study with a credit hour system at the bachelor's level at the Faculty of Engineering in Matariya - Helwan University to be a model for similar future programs.
  • Developing engineering education in specialized engineering fields.
  • Exploiting the university's capabilities and the expertise of faculty members in various specialized engineering fields to develop the profession by providing a high degree of theoretical and practical quality.

The program offers several employment opportunities in the field of project management, construction and sustainable projects such as:

Planning Engineer : An engineer who works on preparing the project schedule, following up on the completion rates of the project, and preparing weekly and monthly reports for the actual work on the project.
Contracts engineer : He works on preparing construction contracts between the parties to the project and making the necessary changes in the contract for new works.
Cost Engineer : He works to calculate the costs of the project items and follow up the contractor's extracts for what has been implemented in the project.
BIM engineer : He works to use the latest technologies to make the best coordination between all construction works and increase the efficiency of the project.
Site engineer : Opportunities to work for an engineer who supervises the implementation of project items with the best quality.
Technical Office Engineer : Responsible for preparing the engineering inventory of the items implemented throughout the project period and preparing the owner's extracts and subcontractors' extracts.
