Automotive and Tractor Department
About the department:
The Automotive and Tractor Engineering Program was established at the Faculty of Engineering in Matariya, Helwan University with the beginning of the establishment of Helwan University in 1976/1977, and before that, the Automotive and Tractor Engineering Program existed as a division of the Mechanical Engineering Department. The implementation of the current Automotive and Tractor Engineering program began with the implementation of the 2004/2003 regulation. At the same time, a new regulation for the Automotive and Tractor Engineering Program was implemented during the academic year 2019/2020.
The presence of a huge number of vehicles, running inside the cities and villages of the Arab Republic of Egypt and equipped with the latest technologies in the field of vehicle manufacturing confirms the necessity of the need for an automotive and tractor engineering program in engineering colleges, especially since the number of vehicles is increasing significantly, in order to graduate engineers specializing in cars and tractors, where these engineers graduate from the program train a huge number of highly skilled technical workers who are trained to carry out maintenance and repair of advanced technical systems contained in the increasing number of vehicles.
Department message:
"Qualifying the graduates of the program to enable them to keep pace with the modern and accelerated technological development. The program should provide its graduates with scientific knowledge, self-learning methods, practical and behavioral skills to be able to compete. The program meets the requirements of the local, regional and international labor market. The program should diversify sources of funding and self-financing resources to support its activities. The program also aims to provide distinguished research services and establish consultancy centers and advanced research laboratories that contribute to the development of society and its needs."
Objectives of the department:
- Graduating a highly qualified engineer with a leadership personality who possesses communication skills and dealing with different cultures and societies.
-Cooperating with governmental and private institutions and foreign educational institutions and exchanging experiences.
-Providing graduates with the knowledge required to design, manufacture and assemble cars and tractors, as well as the skills of planning and managing car workshops, fault diagnosis, maintenance and repair in accordance with local and international standards in line with the requirements and developments of labor markets.
Diversify funding sources and self-financing resources to support program activities.
-Provide graduates with the skills of using modern technologies, the Internet and communications in the field of automotive and tractor engineering.
-Providing graduates with knowledge of management sciences, economics, risk management, occupational safety and health, as well as work ethics and entrepreneurship.
